The Southwest Script Museum is a unique space dedicated to the oldest known writing system in the Iberian Peninsula, dating back more than 2,500 years.
Visitors can explore engraved funerary stelae and various archaeological artefacts associated with the Cynetes and other Iron Age peoples who inhabited and interacted with this region. The museum is an important reference in Portuguese archaeology and one of the main cultural landmarks of Almodôvar.
